From 2020-2023, Mr. Jourdan marched mellophone with the Sudler Trophy winning Redcoat Marching Band. His participation granted him the opportunity to participate in two of the football teams national championship births traveling thousands of miles to support his favorite team. While in the band, Jourdan served as a rank leader for the mellphone section, focusing on marching technique and welcoming new members to the band.
On stage, Mr. Jourdan performed on the clarinet in nearly two dozen concerts with the university's top wind bands. These concerts included a variety of audiences such as elementary students, high school students, and general audiences. One notable performance saw Jourdan perform on the Bass Clarinet for the School of Music's community outreach performance opportunity with local Athens hip-hop artist, known as the Athens Hip-Hop Harmonic.
As a member of the brotherhood of Phi Mu Alpha, Jourdan was able to grow through the fellowship of musical students. Serving as Vice-President, Jourdan had the opportunity to lead the chapters musical performances. This experience saw him teaching weekly music rehearsals and organizing music performances around the community and on UGA's Campus.
Mr. Jourdan's love for athletic bands did not end after the football season came to an end. In the spring, Jourdan could be found down the street at Stegman Colleseum cheering on his team once again at both men's and women's basketball games. UGA's basketball band provided him with even more opportunities to travel the nation playing his instrument, performing in various states around the southeast.Â
